Kharkiv celebrated the Town Day

Municipal holiday dedicated to the Town Day and Day of Liberation was held on August, 23 on Svobody square.

Kharkiv city mayor Gennadiy Kernes and the chairman of Kharkiv regional state administration Mykhailo Dobkin congratulated citizens and veterans with the holidays.

The parade of best enterprises and welcoming of honorary citizens were held on the square. Besides, fathers of children who were born on Town Day, received certificates for purchasing of prams.

Yaroslava, Vira Brezhneva, Virka Serdyuchka and bands «Samocvety», «Boney M», «Discoteka Avariya», «Okean El’zy» performed at this day.

Two fireworks were launched during the holiday. According to the tradition one was launched at the end of the holiday, another – after the welcoming of honorary citizens. As Gennadiy Kernes informed it will become a tradition during the celebration of the Town Day.
