Kharkiv increases funding to help defenders The Kharkiv City Council has amended the budget of the Kharkiv City Territorial Community for 2025.

The decision was made today, 24 February, at an extraordinary session of the City Council.

According to the Department of Budget and Finance, this is due to the need to bring the amount of interbudgetary transfers in line with the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and orders of the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. 
In particular, the city will receive an educational subvention from the state budget in the amount of UAH 1.28 billion, subventions for additional payments to pedagogical staff of general secondary education institutions (UAH 82.9 million), for financing inclusive resource centres and private schools (UAH 53.2 million), and for support of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine (UAH 3.7 million).

Due to the redistribution of budget allocations in Kharkiv, expenditures were increased for:
- ensuring reliable power supply to the subway - by UAH 670 million
- construction of civil defence structures in educational institutions - by UAH 467.9 million;
- emergency repair works in the housing stock - by UAH 156 million;
- installation of autonomous heat supply - by UAH 86 million;
- providing assistance to military units and special bodies with law enforcement functions - by UAH 56 million;
- purchase of an angiographic digital system for medical care of the population - by UAH 48.2 million;
- creation of a rehabilitation unit to provide medical care to citizens - by UAH 23.1 million;
- installation of alternative water supply sources - by UAH 25 million.
